The performances showcased the students’ courage and drama skills. The shows were each delightful and reminded me of important lessons about courage and character:

SEMESTER 1 FINAL EXAMS take place on December 14, 15, and 16. I invite you to begin studying  now. If you take careful notes in each class and review your notes each day during evening study, you will find that you understand the subjects better and are prepared for the exams.
*第一学期期末考试将于12月14日、15日和16日举行。我希望同学们现在开始可以为考试复习做准备。如果你在每节课中都认真记笔记并在晚自习的时候复习每天的笔记，你会发现你对科目有了更好的了解，并为考试做好了准备。
* BASKETBALL REPORT from the ATHLETIC DIRECTOR 篮球战报
Monday’s Junior Varsity game against QSI turned out to be really intense. At the start of the game we quickly got a comfortable lead, which we held through the first half. One of my dreams came true as Mr. Olsson jumped at the chance to have the band perform at halftime! In the second half the tables turned and QSI led for most of the half. In the last 2 minutes the lead changed a couple times and we were down with about 20 seconds left. A great score by Langston, and a lucky turnover that went our way sealed the win for us. 44-43.

On Wednesday night (12/9), our Varsity boys basketball team played against SIA. Nerves got the best of our boys, and, unfortunately, we didn't play as well as we are capable of playing. The circumstances of the game brought sportsmanship into the limelight, and, despite the loss, I'm proud of the conduct of our boys.
星期三晚上（12月9日），我们的男子篮球队与SIA学校开展比赛。我们的队员们保持警惕，小心应战，由于我们没有发挥出应有的水平，最后比赛失利。比赛的胶着情况使体育精神成为我们关注的焦点，尽管输球，我还是为我们的队员们的行为感到骄傲。
Thursday night (12/10), we had the opportunity to play a game against a basketball team from a local community (the one I live in)! Playing against great teams, such as they are, provides an opportunity to 
bring our weaknesses to the surface and address them in a low risk environment. It's great to get involved with local communities, which is an opportunity I dare say we uniquely enjoy by living in an awesome place like Dapeng.
星期四晚上（12月10日），我们和一个来自当地社区的篮球队（我门所居住的社区）打了一场比赛！他们是一支技术精湛的球队，与他们的比赛为我们提供了一个机会，使我们的弱点得以暴露出来，并在一个低风险的环境中解决它们。很高兴参与到融入当地社区的活动，我想说，我们很开心能生活在大鹏这样一个拥有独一无二优美环境的极好的地方。
* WINTER BALL 圣诞冬季舞会
On 12/17 from 7–9 PM, we will hold a Winter Christmas Ball, with a special visitor! There is a “White Christmas” color theme.

* BOOK DONATIONS 图书捐赠
Thank you to many families who have sent book donations to our library. We welcome more donations!

Finallly, on 12/16 from 3:30–5 PM, we will hold a Christmas and New Year Celebration, with music, drama, dance, and other performances that are themed with pop-culture surrounding this international holiday and the new year!

I’m grateful to work at a school where our mission includes celebrating holidays of international appeal such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Chinese New Year, Tomb Sweeping Day, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Teachers Day, Children’s day, and more. Fun holiday traditions are a great way to learn about the world.  We look forward to a year of learning and growth in 2021!
